Leafy Vegetable Seeds

Leafy vegetables are a type of plant that includes many of the greens we eat, such as lettuce, spinach, and cabbage. The seeds of these plants are small, hard, and often have a protective coating. When the seed is planted, the protective coating breaks down and the seed germinates, or begins to grow. The seedling grows into a small plant with leaves, and eventually, if conditions are right, it will produce flowers and fruits.
